Safety routines
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher greets each child at the room door. We release a child only to the people you list in writing, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Allergies
Tell us about any allergy at the tour. Once you enroll, we ask again in private.
Naps
Babies sleep on their backs, in their own crib, with nothing else in the crib. Older children rest on cots with their own blanket.
Clean hands
Every room washes hands on arrival, before meals and after outdoor play.
Fenced yard
Children go out to the fenced yard with their room's teacher, and an adult is always with them.
Drills
Each room practices fire and earthquake drills with the teacher who leads it.

What the license means
DCYF, the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families, licenses child care centers. The license says how many children the center may care for and at what ages.
Each room has a set number of children per adult, by age. You can ask to see the license when you come for a tour.
